2019 Youth Home Nations

Scottish Fencing is delighted to confirm we are sending a team to compete in the Youth Five Nations in Ireland on the weekend of June 29/30.

After some direct consultation with the top 6 rankings in each weapon, enough interest was lodged that allows us to send a highly competitive team across most weapon disciplines.

Ross Morrison, Scottish Fencing Director of Development & Safeguarding was delighted to accept the invite for Scottish Fencing from Irish Fencing whilst acting as Scottish Fencing Liaison Officer for the event.

“It was great to get so much dialogue and information up front from Irish Fencing, it really helped us with the planning and consultation element for our fencers who are able to travel. It should be a great event, and I’m looking forward to hearing all about the fantastic experiences our individual and team athletes will enjoy.”

There are some spaces not yet filled and we have engaged with clubs and coaches who may have promising athletes not yet ranked but willing to use the Five Nations as the outstanding athlete development experience it is.

The Five Nations will take place at Maynooth University in Ireland over the weekend of June 29/30. Scottish Fencing will take a staff team of Team Manager and 3 weapon coaches. Advertisements will be live on the Scottish Fencing website by Friday April 5th should any member of Scottish Fencing wish to apply for the staff roles.
