2019 Coaching staff for Challenge Wratislavia

Scottish fencing are supporting a squad of young fencers at the Challenge Wratislavia Tournament in March 2019.

We are currently seeking notes of interest from coaches interested in working with this squad of U15 and U13 fencers. Ideally we are looking for coaches who are currently working with fencers in this age group and who can demonstrate continued professional development. All the staff team will need to attend the planned training days and coaches must be registered with British Fencing.

2019 SYCs – a quick update from SF HQ

Last year running four six-weapon events across one weekend was a considerable effort and only just manageable. Any oversubscription of entries for example or equipment failures could have made the event run late. This prompted the events director to consider how to reduce the overall number of events.

Given we have an extremely busy weekend Scotland-wide for fencing on February 2nd/3rd and athletes keen to participate at more than one event in more than one location it is critical for us to maintain a lean championships.

2019 BYC qualifiers

To qualify for the British Youth Championships in May you need to enter a regional qualifier. Even if you have an automatic bye you still need to enter via your Region.

Below are links to the regional qualifiers and/or who you need to contact if you are interested in competing. If there is enough interest the regional organisers will arrange a qualifiying competition which is why you need to be in touch by mid January to give them time to make any arrangements.
