2019 Youth Home Nations

Scottish Fencing is delighted to confirm we are sending a team to compete in the Youth Five Nations in Ireland on the weekend of June 29/30.

After some direct consultation with the top 6 rankings in each weapon, enough interest was lodged that allows us to send a highly competitive team across most weapon disciplines.

Ross Morrison, Scottish Fencing Director of Development & Safeguarding was delighted to accept the invite for Scottish Fencing from Irish Fencing whilst acting as Scottish Fencing Liaison Officer for the event.

2019 SYCs – a quick update from SF HQ

Last year running four six-weapon events across one weekend was a considerable effort and only just manageable. Any oversubscription of entries for example or equipment failures could have made the event run late. This prompted the events director to consider how to reduce the overall number of events.

Given we have an extremely busy weekend Scotland-wide for fencing on February 2nd/3rd and athletes keen to participate at more than one event in more than one location it is critical for us to maintain a lean championships.

2018 Youth Home Nations - update

Scottish Fencing put a call out for junior fencers who would be interested in representing Scotland at the Youth Home Nations which are being held in Cardiff in September. Following a highly successful Cadet and Junior Commonwealth Fencing Championships (CJCFC) many of the team selected for that event were unable to attend the Home nations and we thought this would be a great opportunity for those who didn’t fence at the CJCFC to have a great weekend of individual and team fencing.
