I have been asked for information about what the Board has been doing. Whilst minutes of Board Meetings are published on the Scottish Fencing website, the following summary of recent activity may prove informative.
Alex Pearson leaves Scottish Fencing
Scottish Fencing says goodbye today to Alex Pearson as he leaves the role of Club Development Officer after 7 months.
Alex was pivotal in many areas during his time particularly around developing robust management information alongside building strong relationships with clubs embarking on their own Development journeys.
Vincent Bryson, Scottish Fencing Chief Operating Officer was clear in his praise of Alex’s contribution.

From 1st April 2018 Scottish Fencing will be featuring regular articles on-line about women and girls involved in Fencing, our Social Media volunteer Sarah-Jane Hampson will be leading this exciting new project.

2017 - Andy Alderman Leaves Scottish Fencing
Scottish Fencing is today announcing the departure of Andy Alderman from the role of Club Development Officer.
Andy leaves on 30 November having joined the Scottish Fencing staff in April 2016. Andy is of course a well known personality in the Scottish Fencing community, thanks to his tireless work on the coaching and high performance side over several years.
UPDATED - Board of Directors contact details
We have made some IT changes here at Scottish Fencing.
Our files have now moved into a cloud server and at the same time we have changed our Board of Directors contact details.

Chief Operating Officer and Club Development Officer
The Board of Scottish Fencing is delighted to announce who is joining the Scottish Fencing staff team.
Vincent Bryson - known as “Vinny” - will be Chief Operating Officer from the 29 August and Alex Pearson will be our second Club Development Officer from the 4 September. Both are part-time roles.
Development Grants - 2016 update and launch of 17 – 18 programme
Scottish Fencing is pleased to highlight some of the great work carried out by member clubs with support from the grant scheme during 2016/17. Salle Ossian, Shetland Fencing Club, ActiFence and Aberdeen Fencing Club ran beginners courses and competitions for new fencers, resulting in over 70 new members joining Scottish Fencing.
